5 Types of health conditions women go through in their life
There are certain health conditions that are unique to women only. Many of these health issues are related to their reproductive system. Many women experience some of these conditions at some point in their lives. Read on to learn about these health conditions that women go through in their life.
Getting pregnant is one of the stages in a woman’s life. However, as much as it usually results in joy, there are certain health complications that sometimes occur when a woman is pregnant. They include premature labor, and birth, preeclampsia and gestation diabetes. Another thing that may affect a pregnant woman is pregnancy loss. This can be through a miscarriage or through still birth. As much as breastfeeding is beneficial to both the mother and the child, sometimes diseases related to breast milk and breast feeding do occur. Birth defects can also occur. This could be functional or structural abnormalities. They sometimes result in physical disability, intellectual or functional abnormalities or other health problems.
Gynecological health disorders
Even though menstruation is part and parcel of a woman’s life, it isn’t a smooth sailing. Normally a woman menstruates once a month. However, this differs from woman to woman. Sometimes issues to do with menstrual irregularities do occur. (Excessive bleeding, irregular periods or missed periods)
Another problem is pelvic floor disorders. It usually occurs when the muscles of the pelvic areas weaken. Some of the disorders include; fecal incontinence, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapsed. Other conditions include bacterial prolapsed. Other conditions include bacterial vaginosis, urinary Tract infections, Vulvodynia, uterine fibroids and virginities.
Disorders related to infertility
Not all women are fertile. Those who aren’t experience some health conditions. One of them is uterine fibroids. These are tumors that arise within the wall of the womb or uterus.
The other issue is endometriosis, which is a disease which usually involves the growth of tissues outside the uterus.
Sometimes a woman’s ovaries may stop working normally even before she reaches 40. This condition is referred to as Primary Ovarian Insufficiency. At other times, there may be hormonal imbalance in women. These symptoms are referred to as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. It may cause skin changes, infertility, cysts and menstrual changes.
Conditions related to women’s overall health
Some of them include violence against women, menopause and osteoporosis. Many women in some countries have their right violated. Many are victims of rape. Women with disabilities also face certain unique challenges.
Other disorders and conditions
Some concerns are unique to women. Such include ovarian and cervical cancers. Otter than cancer, there is also another condition known as Turner syndrome. It is a condition in which a woman completely or partially misses the X chromosome. It often results in heart problems. Sometimes it alters a woman’s appearance. Another condition is the Rett syndrome. It is a developmental and neurological genetic disorder. Mostly, it affects females.
Almost all of the above mentioned conditions majorly affect women.
